This is the latest of a series of maglev trains being tested and reviewed for
public release in Japan. This particular train is owned and operated by JR East 
(Japan Railway East).
The maglev train is suspended just inches above the track by way of super-
conducting magnets. I was fortunate enough to visit the world expo in Japan
back in 2005 to view a prototype of an earlier model which was on display. It 
is quite an amazing piece of technology.
