First before I begin this post, some news about the popular drawing software Manga Studio. It is now also called Clip Studio Paint Pro. I am not sure why the name change, however, it appears that the features haven't changed from the former.
I have now been using Manga Studio for about 8 months and it has been a very valuable tool for my illustration and manga drawings. I used to use Photoshop exclusively for my drawings but found that ps has many limitations. I still use ps for some of my rendering work, however, Manga Studio is now my primary tool of choice. One of the key features that I really appreciate and use regularily is the drawing stabilization tool. During the years which I relied on photoshop, I often wished for a way to make my lines smooth and neat without the wobbly uneveness which gives a drawing that amatueristic look. Manga Studio has solved this problem for me. Another nice feature is the ability to fill a border that isn't quite closed by setting certain gap tolerances, try doing that with photoshop. With all that said, I still find that photoshop still has it's usefullness, ie, the ability to render and create very nice highlights and shadow effect. As a matter of fact, I will often do my drawings and inking in Manga Studio and import the completed drawing into ps and finish the rendering there. Another key feature of Manga Studio is the ability to easily set up page frames for manga comic creation.
Well thats all I have for now.
I have attached a link to a great video tutorial for Manga Studio (now Clip Studio Paint Pro). It is very easy to understand, I have viewed the series many times to get familiarized with this great application. I believe you too can get some valuable insight here.
Thanks for stopping by and have a nice day! Manga Studio tutorial
As a graphic designer and web designer for over twenty years, I spent many countless hours in search of the best solutions for my projects. I have worked with clients in the U.S., Japan and European markets as both an in house advertising coordinator, senior graphic designer and web developer as well as a freelancer. One thing I've come to realize is that no matter what the challenges are or how tight the deadlines, you can always find a way to complete a project. I often wondered how I on earth I was going to complete certain projects, but over time, I always new I could and I did. Today, I am busy developing my skills as a manga artist and am working on developing my own manga character and manga comic. Just as in the past, I'm sure I will be met with challenges but I am confident I will overcome them and succeed. I will continue posting drafts of my works so please feel free to check in from time to time. Please leave comments and any words of wisdom.
Trailer from Pacific Rim This post is for those who are into sci fi and sci fi movies. I am anticipating the release of Pacific Rim 2 a film by director Guillermo del Toro. I saw the first release Pacific Rim which was released in 2013 and was pretty impressed by cinematic quality and awsome special effects. Just to refresh memories of those who saw the first release and for those unfamiliar with the film, the story revolves around a menacing race of giant beast known as Kaiju who are threatening the world, (kaiju comes from Japanese term meaning strange beast) and a some giant manned robots called Jaegers which enter into battle with the Kaiju. From my research, director Guillermo del Toro claims the filming of pacific Rim 2 has already begun after numnerous cancellations and delays and is set to be released sometime in 2017. He also mentions that the new release will have fresh content and will be a departure from the original film, this was all he revealed. The first thing I noticed while viewing the origninal film was that it had elements of a film titled Robot Jocks which played in theaters back in the 80s' featuring giant robots manned by human pilots. I am hoping that the new release Pacific Rim 2 delivers as much excitement and eye candy as the first.
Cybersamurai Sengoku This is a design I created for a t shirt. The design is inspired by my site theme name CyberSamurai and depicts a samurai warrior of the future set against the stylish rising sun. Sengoku is a word that symbolizes the era during the 14th- 16th century in which Japan was embroiled in constant civil wars.
